While the earliest recorded cases for Public Adjusters in the U.S. only date back to 1893, the history of the profession goes back much further.
In the 1630s, the citizens of England petitioned King Charles I to patent a monopoly to insure homes against fire. Unfortunately, the Great Fire destroyed London in 1666 before these municipal monopolies became a reality. Once in operation, it was realized that because of the amount of money involved, an advocate was needed for the public.

The profession of Public Adjuster was born as the role of the adjuster evolved over the next couple hundred years.

​Public Adjustment Bureau, LLC was established 30 years ago in Arizona, and our partners have nearly 70 years collective experience in the claims industry. We are proud to be part of a longstanding, solid profession which enables us to make our living by working as personal, private advocates for the consumer.
